Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens Wedding Film
Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens is a family-owned rainforest garden in Brookfield, about twenty minutes from the Brisbane CBD, with a waterfall, a creek and a calm that feels a long way from the city. Here is how two of those days looked on film.
About Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens
Bundaleer is about four acres of rainforest garden at Brookfield, with a waterfall, a creek, towering trees and birdsong. On camera it reads as green, soft and enclosed, with the light filtering down through the canopy.
Your wedding day at Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens
The ceremony. Couples marry beneath an old jacaranda or on the waterfall deck, where the sound of falling water sits under the vows.
Portraits. The best portrait ground is the winding lane lined with tall trees and the post-and-rail fencing beside it. In my films here, a couple embraces on that lane among fallen autumn leaves, and another walks the fence line in black and white. The garden paths, creek and waterfall are minutes away.
The reception. The Marquee is light-filled and formal, and the Treetops Room is warmer and opens onto a lawn above the creek, so the evening can run indoors with the garden just outside.
Why couples choose it
Couples usually choose Bundaleer for the setting first. You get a lush, green backdrop for the ceremony and the portraits without leaving the Brisbane area, and your guests do not face a long drive. It also works for couples who want a garden wedding but still want proper reception rooms and a dependable plan if the weather turns.
What couples say
Couples who have married here talk about the grounds, which are well kept and work for ceremonies and photos alike, and about the serene, almost magical feel of the place. They also mention the family team, hands-on and supportive from the first enquiry to the end of the night, and they rate the food and the service.
Filming a wedding at Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens
With Paola & Joshua, I filmed moments like the couple wrapped in each other's arms on a path among tall trees. Read their story.
With Abby & Zac, I filmed moments like the groom kissing the bride's hand on a country path, in black and white. Read their story.
Photographers here have a lot to work with in a small area: the old jacaranda, the waterfall deck, the creek and the garden paths are all within a few minutes' walk, and the Treetops Room opens onto a lawn above the creek. Under the canopy the light is dappled and changes quickly, so it helps to scout at the hour of your ceremony. The jacaranda's flowering depends on the year, so ask the venue what it is doing in your month.
Rainforest gardens mean dappled, changing light, so the timing of your ceremony and portraits matters. When we talk through your timeline I will suggest where the light is likely to be kindest and where we can build in a few quiet minutes for the two of you away from the guests. If you are choosing between the Marquee and the Treetops Room, tell me early and I will plan my positions and audio around the room.
