About Cedar Creek Lodge

Your wedding day at Cedar Creek Lodge

Getting ready. The lodges give the wedding party room to get ready, with good natural light and a variety of spots for photos.

The ceremony. Couples marry in the rainforest amphitheatre or on the island glade.

Portraits. In my film here, the couple stands at a hilltop lookout as the sun sets, with the valley fading into pink haze behind them, one of the best golden-hour frames I have at any venue.

Why couples choose it

Couples choose Cedar Creek for the rainforest: a ceremony among trees and a stay on the mountain, with a team that looks after the details. It suits a smaller wedding where the wedding party wants to get ready, celebrate and stay in the one place.

What couples say

Couples talk about a team that set up the tables, helped organise accommodation, the celebrant and the DJ, and even cued the walk down the aisle. They say the coordinators made planning fun and easy, that there was so much food nobody went hungry, and that guests raved about the vibe. The rainforest scenery and the amount of room to get ready are other favourites.

Filming a wedding at Cedar Creek Lodge

With Tamara & Tom, I filmed moments like the couple holding each other at sunset above a wide valley, the sky glowing pink. Read their story.

Couples describe the lodges as having plenty of room for the wedding party to get ready, with good natural light and a variety of spots for photos. The rainforest amphitheatre gives dappled light, and running water can get into the audio, so videographers plan how to record the vows. Guests can stay on the property, which keeps the day relaxed and leaves more time for portraits among the trees.

Rainforest light is soft and dappled, which is beautiful on film, and a mountain can be cool and damp even in summer, so we will plan for comfort as well as for the shot. Staying on site makes the morning easy, so I will plan to film the early preparations in the lodges and the walk to the ceremony.
