Cowbell Creek Wedding Film
Cowbell Creek is an architect-designed barn on a working cattle farm at Austinville, in the Gold Coast hinterland, with three ceremony spots and wide-open views. Here is how a wedding there looked on film.
About Cowbell Creek
Cowbell Creek is a barn on a working cattle farm in the Gold Coast hinterland, with open paddocks, a hilltop fig tree and a creek.
Your wedding day at Cowbell Creek
The ceremony. There are three ceremony spots: a pergola with a retractable roof, the hilltop fig tree and a creekside verandah.
Portraits. In my film here, the couple walks hand in hand beneath a huge old tree with the late sun flaring through its branches and a weathered timber shed behind them. Photographers and videographers are taken around the property in buggies, so the paddocks, the hill and the creek are all easy to reach.
The reception. A garden party with lawn games and a bar runs before the reception in the architect-designed barn.
Why couples choose it
Couples choose Cowbell Creek for the farm setting without giving up comfort: open fields, hills, highland cows and a proper barn for the reception. Three ceremony spots mean you can pick the feel that suits you, from the tree on the hill to the creek.
Couples say they were sold on a first visit, and some booked a deposit straight away. One couple said the setting was so striking that they kept the flowers to a minimum, and others wanted a farm wedding but did not have the time to put one together themselves, so they liked that the venue supplied everything. A recommendation from a friend has led more than one couple here.
What couples say
Couples talk about the open fields, the views and the highland cows, and about a team that handled small problems before they were asked. They praise the stunning scenery, a coordinator who supported them throughout planning, and the flexibility when a couple needed to change their date.
Filming a wedding at Cowbell Creek
With Josie & James, I filmed moments like the couple holding hands beneath a huge old tree with the sun flaring through it, an old timber shed behind. Read their story.
Photographers and videographers can be taken around the property in 4WD buggies, which makes the long walks between the barn, the hilltop fig tree and the creek easy. The setting is so striking that some couples keep the styling light. A hilltop can lose the sun behind the ridge earlier than the flat ground below, so plan the portraits a little before sunset.
On a large property the walk between locations adds up, so the buggies are a real help and we will build the timeline around them. I will ask which ceremony area you have chosen so I can plan around the light, particularly if you choose the hilltop tree, where sunset can be spectacular.
