Customs House Wedding Film
Customs House is a heritage-listed building on Queen Street beside the Brisbane River, with a river terrace looking to the Story Bridge. Here is how a wedding there looked on film.
About Customs House
Customs House is a heritage-listed building beside the Brisbane River on Queen Street, built in 1889.
Your wedding day at Customs House
The ceremony. The River Terrace hosts waterfront ceremonies with the Story Bridge behind, and the ceremony moves into the alcove of the reception room if it rains.
Portraits. In my film here, the couple embraces beside ornate wrought-iron gates and heritage stonework in the late light. The terrace, the river and the building's stone facade all work for portraits.
The reception. The River Room flows onto the terrace, and the Long Room has a cathedral ceiling and sculpted pillars.
Why couples choose it
Couples choose Customs House for a formal city wedding in a heritage building, with a ceremony on the river terrace and the reception in the same place.
Filming a wedding at Customs House
With Romarie & Jake, I filmed moments like the couple embracing beside ornate wrought-iron gates and heritage stonework in the late light. Read their story.
A riverside terrace and a heritage room give very different light, so I plan the ceremony time around the sun over the river and my cameras and audio for the Long Room. Ask early about the wet-weather plan, which moves the ceremony indoors.
