Goonoo Goonoo Station Wedding Film

Goonoo Goonoo is a working cattle station near Tamworth, with a restored 19th-century village.

The ceremony. There are two outdoor ceremony locations looking over the village and the gardens.

Portraits. In my film here, the couple embraces on a sunlit lawn in front of a stone chapel and cottage garden, with low, golden light. The heritage buildings are the portrait backdrop.

The reception. The reception is in the Woolstore.

Couples choose Goonoo Goonoo for the history and the scale: a village of restored buildings, a station setting and room to celebrate with a big group. It is a long way from the coast, which is part of the appeal.

One couple wanted a relaxed, fun day with a sophisticated feel where everyone could dress up in black tie. They found the restored Woolstore and its surroundings so spectacular that they kept decoration to a few hydrangeas, so that nothing would distract from the building and the outlook.

The village's restored buildings make good getting-ready and candid locations, and the Woolstore has window-lit corners. The ceremony sites look over the village and gardens, so ask which way they face, because that decides how much backlight you get. The station is about 25 minutes from Tamworth, so build in travel time.
