InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Wedding Film
The InterContinental Sanctuary Cove is a resort wedding venue on the Coomera River, with a glass-walled chapel and tropical gardens. Here is how two of those days looked on film.
About InterContinental Sanctuary Cove
The InterContinental at Sanctuary Cove is a formal resort with clipped hedges, stone columns and fountains, a river frontage and about four hectares of tropical garden.
Your wedding day at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove
The ceremony. The Wedding Chapel looks over the Coomera River through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall, and there is a mezzanine above it for an elevated angle. Ceremonies can also be held on the terraces and by the lagoon.
Portraits. In my films here, one couple embraces beneath a stone-columned pergola framed by clipped hedges and tropical leaves, with French doors and a red-brick path behind. Another stands at the river's edge as the light goes, with a jetty and moored boat behind, and he kisses her hand.
The reception. The Grange has a high-beamed ceiling, polished timber and chandeliers, and MacArthur's Ballroom suits larger parties.
Why couples choose it
Couples choose Sanctuary Cove when they want a resort wedding that handles everything in one place: a dramatic ceremony space, a choice of rooms for the reception and rooms for the guests. The gardens and the water give you portraits without leaving the property.
What couples say
Couples describe the glass chapel as stunning. They talk about coordinators who looked after them and made sure the day ran flawlessly, and staff who were kind and attentive. The variety of reception spaces is another favourite, so the venue can be matched to the style of the day.
Filming a wedding at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove
With Maggie & David, I filmed moments like the couple embracing beneath a stone pergola, framed by clipped hedges and tropical plants. Read their story.
With Samantha & Steven, I filmed moments like the couple beside a waterway with moored boats, the groom kissing the bride's hand. Read their story.
With Bibi & Wayne, I filmed moments like the bride and groom sharing a quiet moment seen through blurred autumn leaves. Read their story.
The chapel has a mezzanine level that gives an elevated angle on the ceremony, so ask the venue whether it is available to your photographer and videographer. The glass front lets in a lot of natural light, so find out what time of day the sun is on the glass. Outside, the terrace pond, the clipped hedges, the Fountain Terrace and the beach lagoon all give formal and relaxed backdrops across about four hectares of garden, so portraits do not mean leaving the resort.
A glass-fronted chapel means a lot of natural light that changes quickly, so I will talk through the time of your ceremony with you and plan my positions around the glass and the river view. With terraces, the lagoon and several rooms to choose from, tell me early which spaces you have booked and I will plan the day around them.
