About Sandstone Point Hotel

Sandstone Point sits on the Pumicestone Passage with Bribie Island across the water, and landscaped grounds between the hotel and the shore.

Your wedding day at Sandstone Point Hotel

The ceremony. There are four or five ceremony locations on the property, including exclusive deck spaces overlooking the water.

Portraits. In my film here, the couple holds each other close among jasmine leaves in soft, backlit light, a quiet corner of the gardens away from the guests. The water's edge gives longer, open frames, with reflections and silhouettes at sunset.

The reception. Three reception spaces give a choice between a large room and a more intimate one, and the on-site accommodation means the wedding party can stay close.

Why couples choose it

Couples choose Sandstone Point for a waterfront wedding between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, with a choice of ceremony spots and a venue team that keeps planning simple, even for couples who live interstate.

What couples say

Couples talk about their coordinators, who exceeded expectations and made planning easy even when the couple lived interstate. They mention the water views and the landscaping, and that interstate guests loved staying on site.

Filming a wedding at Sandstone Point Hotel

With Ash & Zane, I filmed moments like the couple with foreheads together, framed by green leaves and soft light. Read their story.

With Maunga & Daniel, I filmed moments like the couple on a jetty over the water, he kisses her cheek and she holds a native-flower bouquet. Read their story.

Sandstone Point has several ceremony locations and exclusive deck spaces looking across the Pumicestone Passage to Bribie Island, with water reflections and silhouettes at sunset. Listings count four or five ceremony spots, so ask the venue which ones you can use and which face west. One couple moved their ceremony indoors after a week of rain, so look at the wet-weather space before the day. Ask early whether drones are allowed.

Water views mean beautiful open light, but also breeze, so I will plan audio for your ceremony carefully. With several ceremony locations to choose from, tell me which you have picked and I will plan around the sun for your time of day.
