Summergrove Estate Wedding Film
Summergrove Estate sits in the Tweed hinterland at Carool, about fifteen kilometres from the beaches, with a white chapel and a barn for the reception. Here is how two of those days looked on film.
About Summergrove Estate
Summergrove is about 73 acres at Carool, with a white chapel, a garden arbour and a purpose-built barn.
Your wedding day at Summergrove Estate
The ceremony. Vows are made in the white chapel or in the garden arbour.
Portraits. In my films here, the couple laughs as they leave the ceremony through confetti, and sits on a timber paddock gate with rolling hills behind. The gate and the hills are the signature frame.
The reception. The reception is in the barn, with lawn games and live music outside.
Why couples choose it
Couples choose Summergrove for a hinterland wedding that is stylish but simple: a chapel, a barn and lots of green space, close to the Gold Coast airport. It is a popular choice for couples who want the Northern Rivers feel without being far from the coast.
One couple both wanted a barn reception, and the estate built them a white barn modelled on large American barns, with polished concrete floors, exposed beams and hanging globes. They also wanted an outdoor hilltop ceremony, which the venue could offer. Another couple said it was the only venue they looked at, because they could not go past the beautiful white chapel and barn.
What couples say
Couples describe the location as breathtaking and the team as incredible and attentive to the wedding party, family and friends. One couple chose it because it was stunning yet simple, which was exactly their style.
Filming a wedding at Summergrove Estate
With Tori & Brad, I filmed moments like the couple laughing as they leave the ceremony through a crowd and confetti, the bride holding a bright bouquet. Read their story.
With Emily & Sean, I filmed moments like the couple sitting on a timber gate with rolling hills stretching out behind them. Read their story.
There are several settings: an elevated garden looking over the sea and the hinterland, a white chapel in the vineyard and a barn strung with festoon lights. The hilltop and the garden are exposed, so check them at the hour you plan to use them. The estate keeps a list of recommended local suppliers, so it is worth asking who has worked there before.
A white chapel and a barn make a lovely contrast on film, and the gardens give plenty of space for portraits. I will ask about your plans for the evening, such as lawn games or live music, so I can cover the whole celebration.
