Sunshine Beach Surf Club Wedding Film

Sunshine Beach Surf Club is a beachside venue just around the headland from Noosa, with a lawn for the ceremony and an ocean-view room for the reception. Here is how two of those days looked on film.

About Sunshine Beach Surf Club

Sunshine Beach Surf Club is right on the sand, so the ceremony, portraits and reception sit within a few steps of each other.

Your wedding day at Sunshine Beach Surf Club

The ceremony. The Ocean Lawn is used for ceremonies, with the sea behind you.

Portraits. In my films here, the couple walks the beach hand in hand under a moody blue sky, and another pair stand against leafy green beside the club. The beach itself is the portrait location, so the light and tide decide the timing.

The reception. The Ocean View Room is the reception space, and the marquee deck suits a sit-down dinner.

Why couples choose it

Couples choose the surf club for a beach wedding that feels relaxed and genuinely Sunshine Coast: sand, surf and sky, with a proper room for the reception and no moving between venues. It is an easy choice for couples with a mix of local and out-of-town guests.

Many couples have had two wishes: to say their vows on the sand and to have a reception with water views. This is a place where both are possible, with sunset cocktails on the lawn.

Filming a wedding at Sunshine Beach Surf Club

With Sarah & Oscar, I filmed moments like the bride beaming as the groom whispers beside her, leafy green behind. Read their story.

With Meg & Jake, I filmed moments like the couple walking hand in hand along the sand under a moody blue sky. Read their story.

With Rosie & Cam, I filmed moments like the couple on an empty stretch of beach, the bride's dress streaming in the wind and a bright bouquet in her hand. Read their story.

With Natalie & Josh, I filmed moments like the groom carrying the bride along the sand, waves rolling in behind them. Read their story.

With Melanie & Chris, I filmed moments like the couple laughing together among tall trees, the bride in lace. Read their story.

The Ocean Lawn sits just steps from the water's edge, so the ceremony has the sea behind it. Weather on this stretch of coast can change quickly, and one videographer remembers hail on the drive in and a sky that opened just as he pulled up. The best light is usually about half an hour before sunset. The sea breeze can carry sound away, and the sand and the tide are worth checking.

Beach light changes fast and ocean wind can carry sound, so I will plan audio for your ceremony and talk through the timing with you. The lawn gives you a soft, grassy ceremony space with the ocean behind, and a short walk to the sand is all you need for portraits.
