About Victoria Park

Victoria Park is a parkland venue at Herston with a view over the open green to the Brisbane skyline. Every reception room has its own terrace facing that view.

Your wedding day at Victoria Park

The ceremony. The ceremony can be held on the balcony of the reception room or in the Courtyard, a garden space with a built-in arbour and city views.

Portraits. In my film here, the couple is pressed against an ivy-covered wall with a pink bouquet, a soft, green frame close to the venue. The open parkland gives wide, simple backdrops, and the skyline is the feature at sunset.

The reception. The reception rooms each have a private terrace, so the couple can step outside for a few minutes of skyline portraits while guests are hosted on the deck.

Why couples choose it

Couples choose Victoria Park for skyline views without the city bustle, a choice of rooms and terraces, and a team that includes a dedicated wedding planner and an event supervisor on the day. A bistro on site gives guests somewhere to relax between the ceremony and the reception.

Filming a wedding at Victoria Park

With Michelle & Marek, I filmed moments like the couple tucked against an ivy-covered wall, the bride holding a pink bouquet. Read their story.

With Vy & Dalbert, I filmed moments like the couple walking hand in hand across an open park under big clouds. Read their story.

The venue's own planner suggests sending the couple out for portraits as the sun sets and the city starts to light up, while guests are hosted on the terrace or deck of their room, and that is exactly how I would run it. The garden grounds and the open parkland have views of the skyline, and every reception room has its own terrace with the same view. The wedding team runs site inspections, so a visit at sunset will show you the sightlines.

With terraces on every reception room and views over the park, the light around sunset is a highlight here. I will talk through the timeline with you so the ceremony and the portraits fall at the best part of the afternoon, and plan around the terraces for the reception.
