About Yabbaloumba Retreat

Yabbaloumba is a country property at Cambroon, taken over by one wedding for the whole weekend, with cottages, camping and a shed over the dam.

Your wedding day at Yabbaloumba Retreat

Getting ready. The cottages give the couple and the wedding party space to get ready on site.

Portraits. In my film here, the couple rides a white scooter across the lawn while guests watch and laugh, a good example of a weekend wedding that is more relaxed than formal.

The reception. The reception is in a large shed overlooking the dam.

Why couples choose it

Couples choose Yabbaloumba for the weekend feel: a wedding where your friends and family stay together, celebrate together and have the place to themselves. It suits couples who want a relaxed, festival-style celebration rather than a few hours in a venue.

Couples say the exclusive weekend was the reason they chose it. Others liked that guests can camp on site for free, that the shed is an excellent all-weather option and that they had the freedom to personalise every moment. One pair wanted outdoor spaces close enough for the grandparents to reach but far enough away for an all-night party, and the dam, with a small island in the middle that the owners planned to bridge, sealed the deal.

What couples say

Couples talk about having the property exclusively for the entire weekend, about a planning team who looked after them, and about cabins that felt warm and cosy.

Filming a wedding at Yabbaloumba Retreat

With Sarah & Kyle, I filmed moments like the couple riding a white scooter across the lawn while their guests watch and laugh. Read their story.

The Shed looks over the dam, and the late-day light on the water throws up pretty reflections, so sunset portraits near the dam work well. Cattle, sheep, goats, guinea fowl and geese roam freely around the property and make charming extras in portraits. The Shed is also the wet-weather option.

A whole-weekend wedding means more to film, from the arrival and the setting up to the ceremony and the long evening, and I can be there for the parts that matter most to you. We will talk through how much of the weekend you want covered and build the schedule around it.
