Kiara & John at Maleny Manor

Some venues do half the work. Maleny Manor, high on the Blackall Range and looking over the Obi Obi Gorge, gives you mist in the morning, gold at sunset, and a lawn that seems built for a first dance.

Kiara and John's day had all of it. Getting ready in the manor's suites, a ceremony on the point, and the kind of Gold Coast-hour light photographers drive north for. My job was to stay out of the way and let the day be itself. The film below is exactly what that looked like.

"We forgot you were even there.", the compliment I hear most, and the highest one I know.
